Meet Lindsey Boyd
Lindsey is the sister in law of Harper, one of my leaders local to me. I highlighted Harper in previous blog. Lindsey worked as an athletic trainer with a high school in the south. She then went to nursing school and is currently working as an ER/ICU nurse working 12-hour shifts. She has been a product user for many years but recently stepped into a leader role in her business. I got a chance to chat with her recently about what shifted with her to make her want to be a leader in Shaklee. Let me share a bit of that.
Lindsey grew up in a health conscious family. Her sister in law Harper was introduced to Shaklee 9 years ago and introduced Lindsey to the products as well. She also watched Harper and learned from her. She always trusted Harper’s judgment and her ability and interest in researching things. Lindsey started using the products for herself and regularly uses the meal replacement and supplements during her busy workday. She not only has seen how these products make a difference in how she feels, but also has learned that Shaklee puts more science and time into their products. Specifically, she shared that when she has a Shaklee 180 (now the Life Shakes) for breakfast, she is much more conscious of healthier choices during the day.
Lindsey has come to know that Shaklee is not a Fad. Her experience with other similar direct sales companies has been one of competition and trying to out do one another as distributors. Not with Shaklee. As she has presented Shaklee to others and sought help from others, she has received some have support. She loves that Shaklee is about building health. Distributors are interest in helping others have a better life.
Harper and Lindsey at Lindsey’s first Shaklee even.
Lindsey initially was interested in sharing with others to help to pay for the products that she is using from Shaklee. She now continues to share and her income from Shaklee continues to grow. She looks forward to continuing to build an income for the future.
I want to share one story she told me from her athletic training days.
Lindsey continues to lead great workouts.
Lindsey started using Performance from Shaklee with her athletes to help with their hydration, stamina and energy. She also knew it to be a safe product, containing nothing artificial in the way of colors, dyes or sweeteners.
A Note From Lindsey
As a high school athletic trainer, football season is exciting, busy, and full of CRAMPS! Following the first game of 2010, I was as exhausted as the players. During the game I had six of our top players cramping on the sidelines, which meant a lot of stretching out their cramps.
The coaches were frustrated, anxious for the players to get back in the game. The players would go back on the field, only to cramp again and be carried back off. After using enormous amounts of mustard, pickle juice, and ice bags the game was finally over and everyone was headed for a weekend full of DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness).
I knew we could not go through a third season of this. The first two season as athletic trainer for the high school football team was full of cramping and other issues. No matter how much I reminded the athletes to drink water and eat healthy there was only so much I could regulate.
The electrolyte drinks that they were using were not helping, and they were so full of sugar. I knew there had to be an answer and so I turned to Shaklee Performance. I knew that Shaklee was a very reputable company that was backed by science and research. I had heard about Performance and how it was created for stamina, hydration, and endurance.
After asking the president of the football booster club for support/money, we were ready to try it at the next game. The booster club president, along with the other people involved, had decided it was time to try something new.
The next Friday game we began to implement what became fondly called “the drink” by the team, coaches, and parents. We began a regimen of approximately 6-12oz of Performance following warm-ups. During the time on the field the water girl kept 4 out 6 of her bottles filled with it so that when she went on the field the boys had access to rehydrate faster, along with 4-6 bottles available on the sidelines at all times. During halftime Performance was available in 6oz cups, along with having water available at all times also.
Performance was a success!!! I did not spend ANY TIME stretching out cramps ALL football season! My attention could be given to the athletes with more serious needs, and to the injuries on the field.
Our team had one of the best high school football records they have had in years, and even made it to the second round of play-offs! We had great quality athletes with amazing talent, and thanks to Performance those athletes played their best 100% of the time.
I look forward to watching Lindsey and her success in Shaklee grow. If you are interested is how Shaklee products or business can fit into your life, Contact Moyra at moyra@gorskiwellness.net today.
